General Description

The main objective of the department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics is to educate the undergraduate students ,interns and post-graduate students in the practice of operative dentistry and endodontics.

The goal of the department is prevention diagnosis and treatment of defects of teeth and endodontic infections and improve the quality of life of the dental patients.

To train postgraduate students to a proficient level in the restoration rehabilitation and maintenance of dentition, to promote learning environment through research methodology and assessment tools.

To encourage and promote research and publications and promote      collaboration with various institutions.

To carry out all the treatments at nominal charges with the intention of motivating and encouraging patients to maintain oral health and hygiene.

The department has the state-of-the-art infrastructure and dedicated teaching and non teaching staff. 

The objectives of the department are:

  1. Prevention of caries by diet counseling, pit and fissure sealants, remineralization procedures and fluoride applications.
  2. Caries evaluation by risk assessment tools.
  3. Minimally invasive dental procedures with the use of esthetic tooth coloured materials.
  4. Non-surgical and surgical treatment of endodontic infections with appropriate endodontic therapy based on biological principles that aim in re-establishment of dental and peri-oral health and its long-term survival.
  5. Smile designing by using latest techniques.
  6. Esthetic enhancement by bleaching and veneers.
  7. Inter-disciplinary cases in collaboration with orthodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics etc.
  8. Inlays, onlays and other cast restorations to improve form ,function and esthetics.
  9. Management of badly broken down teeth by the use of post and cores and full coverage restorations.
  10. Management of trauma cases.

 

The Head of The Department Dr Deepika Mod has done her post graduation from GDC Ahmedabad and is a keen and enthusiastic mentor. She possess  15 years of academic experience. She is a true leading light for the department.
