Duration of the B.D.S Course:

The duration of the B.D.S course will be five calendar years. The basic concept of Under-graduate dental education shall be health oriented teaching with stress on prevention of oral diseases, instead of the traditional diseases oriented teaching. To achieve this objective, the dental students shall be exposed to health problems throughout the period of under graduate training.

The B.D.S Curriculum :

The aim and objective of the curriculum is to produce a Dentist who is socially acceptable and is able to work safely and effectively on patents in diagnosis, prevention and treatment of dental and oral diseases. The curriculum is evolving and not merely a process of acquisition of a large number of disjointed facts. The course is a combination of lectures, demonstrations, group work, seminars and clinics.

• SECOND YEAR BDS:

          – General Pharmacology

          – Dental Materials

          – Preclinical Conservative

          – Preclinical Prosthodontics

• THIRD YEAR BDS:

          -General Medicine

          -General Surgery

           -Oral Pathology

• FINAL YEAR BDS:

          -Oral Medicine & Radiology                   -Periodontics
