Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, College of Dental Science & Hospital, Aingpah celebrated Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon’s Day- 13 February 2023 with certain events having motive for 3 days on 10th, 11th and 13th February :

Day 2: On 11th February 2023 :

Organised BLOOD DONATION CAMP IN CO ORDINATION with International Red Cross Society Blood Bank-Bhavnagar District Branch.
Motive: to support the social cause and make people aware of the significance of donating blood.
Target Population: The people around the Institution and the staffs and students within the campus. About the event: Red Cross Society blood bank of Bhavnagar district branch visited with team and necessary items for withdrawal of the blood from the donors. Out of 57 volunteers 45 people which included the Teaching staffs, Non-teaching staffs, interns undergraduate students, Post graduate students and nearby residents donated their blood and made the event success. Every participant were given certificates and a small token of gift as a gesture of appreciation by the Red Cross Society Outcome: Many of the students had donated the blood earlier and those who were motivated to donate blood for the first time expressed their feeling of happiness of donation and many expressed their willingness to donate whenever they get opportunity and support this noble cause.

Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, College of Dental Science & Hospital, Amargadh celebrated Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon’s Day- 13th February 2023 with certain events having motive for 3 days on 10th, 11th and 13th February:

Day 3: On 13′ February 2023-
Workshop on Cardio Pulmonary Cerebellar Resuscitation (CPCR)-The Need of the Hour ; Acknowledged the top two highest scorer of the subject Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery; and gave away the prizes for the lst three prize winners of all the competitions that were conducted in connection to OMFS day.
Motive : To Train the students to deliver at times of need Target Population: The Staffs and students within the campus.
About the event: Dr. Milan Dave .Chairman and Dr. limit Thakkar, Vice chairman of International Red Cross Society Blood Bank-Bhavnagar District Branch was invited as a Guest speaker and demonstrator for the workshop. As a Guest of Honour, Dr. Ajaysingh Jadeja, who is a recipient of Road safety awards twice and has entered ,I,insa Book of world records showed his gracious presence. 107 candidates gained the knowledge of performing CPCR on
manikins.
Outcome: All participants expressed their happiness for conducting this event and recommended to train them for such likeing procedures in future as well.
During the Inaugural function like every year top 2 highest scorer in the subject Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery were awarded with certificate and memento. Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery were awarded with certificate and memento.
The Prize winners of all the competitions that were organized in connection to
OMFS day were acknowledged with certificate and memento.

Day 1 : On 10. February 2023- 3 EVENTS with specific themes:

  • Conducted POSTER COMPETITION WITH SLOGANS followed by Rally; Theme:
    Avoid accidents; Reduce trauma victims

    • The same posters were even used for short distance rally to create awareness on avoiding Road traffic acidents victims. A short skit was performed by our students to reat awareness on Measure to be taken to avoid road accicinets victims.
  • HEAD CAP PAINTING COMPETITION with the theme, Accidents & Trauma”
  • SUTURING COMPETITION with Theme: A stitch in time saves Nine

Motive: To create Awareness in the public on measures to be taken to avoid road traffic accidents and also to highlight the significance of Maxillofacial surgeons in facial trauma victims.
Target People: Undergraduate students, Interns and Post Graduate students of the institution.
About the Event: All events were conducted with the theme and the 1″ three prize winners were awarded on OMFS Day,13th February.
The RALLY on road safety awareness started from the college of Dental Science and on the Mumbai-Rajkot Highway road to a nearby school. A small skit and nAmt,…mu performed by our students to create awareness on the road safety measures.
Outcome: The process of deciding what and how to come up with the ideas for the declared competition, skit and Mime; students explored the relation of RTA and maxillofacial surgery and this contributed for the enhancement of their subject knowledge as well. The posters and headcap displayed for exhibition made other students also understand the motive behind the celebration.
